How to speed up the dissolution of polyacrylamide

Polyacrylamide solid needs to be dissolved before use, and it can play a better role after dissolving into an appropriate concentration of polyacrylamide aqueous solution. However, the dissolving time of polyacrylamide is generally 60 to 180 minutes, which is very inconvenient in actual use. How can we improve the dissolving speed of polyacrylamide, to improve the efficiency of our actual use?

 

Polyacrylamide can be dissolved by tap water, and can not use iron containers. Once the polyacrylamide can not be completely dissolved in the process of dissolution, the effect will be affected in the process of use, and the polyacrylamide that is not dissolved will cause the increase of sludge volume and the blockage of pipeline.

 

In order to accelerate the dissolution of polyacrylamide, we need to know some characteristics of polyacrylamide. Polyacrylamide generally has a good dissolution rate at 20 . With the increase of temperature, the dissolution rate of polyacrylamide will accelerate. However, when the temperature reaches 70 , the degradation of polyacrylamide will occur, affecting the effect of polyacrylamide. Therefore, in order to accelerate the dissolution of polyacrylamide, we will generally raise the temperature to about 40 .

 

Polyacrylamide in weak alkaline water will increase the dissolution rate, so we can add a small amount of alkaline additives in tap water, so as to improve the dissolution rate of polyacrylamide. However, when the pH value of water is greater than 10, polyacrylamide will be hydrolyzed, so the amount of basic additives added needs to be well controlled.

 

In addition, the appropriate increase of stirring speed can also increase the dissolution speed, but the stirring speed should not be too fast.
