Ferrous sulfate is a common water treatment agent, which is divided into anhydrous ferrous sulfate, monohydrate ferrous sulfate, pentahydrate ferrous sulfate and heptahydrate ferrous sulfate.

Ferrous sulfate is often used in water treatment, as well as feed grade and fertilizer grade. When ferrous sulfate is used as fertilizer, it is generally suitable for all kinds of acid loving flowers and trees, woody plants, herbs, fruit trees, melons, etc. The main functions are: 1) adjust soil pH, promote the formation of chlorophyll, so also known as iron fertilizer. 2) It can prevent the yellow leaves and prevent the chlorosis of flowers and trees caused by iron deficiency; 3) The supplement of plant iron deficiency is an essential element for acid loving plants.

There are two methods in the process of fertilizer application

1. Spraying method. The specific dosage is: 1 g ferrous sulfate mixed with 1000 ml water, fully dissolved, directly sprayed on the leaves of flowers and trees, 10-15 days can be sprayed once.

2. Root irrigation. The specific dosage is: 1 g ferrous sulfate mixed with 600 ml of water, fully dissolved, then irrigated on the roots of flowers and trees, once every 20 days or so, need a small number of times, freely adjusted according to the growth of plants. If the plant is in the flowering stage, it can only be watered, not sprayed.

3. Note: when ferrous sulfate is used as flower fertilizer, it can only be used for symptoms such as leaf scorch caused by plant iron deficiency. If these symptoms are caused by poor management, they cannot be completely improved by ferrous sulfate fertilization, and relevant management measures are also needed.
